California Western School of Law
California Western School of Law, which claims the not-yet-registered service mark “What law school ought to be,” was founded in 1924 and ABA-accredited in 1962. Located in San Diego, the school began as a division of California Western University, which has since changed its name to the United States International University, and from which the School of Law separated in 1975.
Looking ahead, the school hopes to join the University of California system by becoming part of the University of California at San Diego; the two schools have formed a joint committee to discuss the possibility of UCSD acquiring California Western.
